Participants may earn volunteer hours through a variety of activities before, during, and after Juneteenth NYC events.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
Training sessions
Community workshops
Youth programs
Event promotion and outreach
Festival participation
Community engagement activities
There is no limit to the number of volunteer hours participants may earn.
Volunteer hours are available throughout the year based on participation and involvement.
Volunteer hours will be verified by the Juneteenth NYC program team.
Participants should expect to:
Attend one information session (30 minutes)
Attend one training session (1–2 hours)
Participate in assigned event coverage
Complete required social media posts
Total commitment:
Approximately 1-3 hours a week
Earn verified volunteer hours
Gain leadership and teamwork experience
Build communication and public engagement skills
Receive influencer and community engagement training
Be part of a citywide cultural celebration
