Our Influencer and Community Story Host Team supports events, promotes local businesses, and helps create welcoming experiences for guests and families. This program offers the opportunity to build leadership skills, earn verified volunteer hours, and gain real-world experience while supporting one of New York City’s largest cultural celebrations.

Important Dates:

  • Applications Open - March 30 – April 1, 2026

  • Applications Close - April 20, 2026

  • Selections Announced - April 27

  • Trainings - April 28 and May 7

  • Campaign & Event Participation - May 8 - onward

Volunteer Hours Opportunities

Participants may earn volunteer hours through a variety of activities before, during, and after Juneteenth NYC events.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

  • Training sessions

  • Community workshops

  • Youth programs

  • Event promotion and outreach

  • Festival participation

  • Community engagement activities

    There is no limit to the number of volunteer hours participants may earn.

    Volunteer hours are available throughout the year based on participation and involvement.

    Volunteer hours will be verified by the Juneteenth NYC program team.

Participants should expect to:

  • Attend one information session (30 minutes)

  • Attend one training session (1–2 hours)

  • Participate in assigned event coverage

  • Complete required social media posts

Total commitment:

Approximately 1-3 hours a week
